Hi thinking of buying modded xbox 360 - just wanted some adise if this sounds ok?
Less than 3mnths old xbox 360, Samsung drive with the latest 'stealth' C4e v3.0 firmware, has a xbox silver on-line a/c with it (seller says being used on live for a while with no probs as has stealth firmware) He also states furute backups will work on this too. Comes with 2 pads, 20games(backups), headset, 20gb hd all leads - £299.
I used to have the original xbox modded but had no experience of 360. Just a bit of a novice with the 360-dont want to buy and then find in a few month that back ups wont work.
Just wanted to know if this set up sounds ok, particularly the firmware?
Thanks alot.

this deal sounds like a good one, and im always affraid of good deals... especially on the net, and ESPECIALLY for something illegal.
Backups will always work, with the firmware... id buy an xbox 360 and learn to do it myself... next month there might be firmware v4.0.. then 5.0 after that, how are you going to keep up???
It really is not that hard to mod... but if the source you're talking about is legit, i'd buy it, heck, buy an extra for me :). Just be aware....
Personally, I'd go to best buy, buy an xbox 360, and do it myself. Theres nothing more satisfying than owning a modded xbox 360 that you hacked yourself.... well there is, but thats inapporiate talk in this forum.

Thanks for your advise epimp. I bought a pre-modded original xbox cos I originally tried a solderless mod myself on my xbox and although it worked for a while, it didnt last long-so puts me off even though there is a wealth of info on the net. Do these firmware updates make a big difference- could it be the case in the future that say, GTA3 is released but wont work on a 360 unless it has, say version 6 firmware? This 360 ive seen is in the UK £299, so about $570.
Thanks.

as to what the future holds with games and their ability to work with the current firmware is unknown to anyone... Which is why i'd learn to do it myself. I don't think there is anything m$ can do to prevent future games from not working... there is always going to be people like comm4eva to prevent that from happening... via new firmware, or different game ripping procedures... You should be safe with v3 forever... but as far as LIVE is concerned... who really knows. I didn't know what the f* i was doing when i first modded my xbox 360, now im a pro... don't be scared.. you wont be doing anything irreversable... pm me if you'd like, i can msn walk you through it / show you on my webcam how to do it.

Gonna have a quick look on the net, not sure if I wanna shell out £299, although not much more than buying the xbox 360. Also, while im chatting with you, at present I dont belive you can download the 360 games can you (eg torrent sites ect) Thanks so much for your help and advice, ill get back to you. I know what you mean though, if you do it yourself and learn through trial and error, it gives you much better understanding of it all. Thanks.

yes you can download, thats the only way i get my backups... I joined sites like blackcats-games.net and torrentleech.org. They have a lot of 360 games. Of course it is illegal to download games you do not own, so don't even try!!! But I don't make my own rips, making verbatim DVD+R DL coasters is too expensive.

I didnt realise you could download 360 games yet. Obviously Id own the game first. Is it similar to downloading xbox game (EG:- download rar files/ iso, mount onto disc(i gather its dual layer from reading this site) and burn using software such as NERO/ Clone CD? I have a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-110D and a Sony DVD DW-Q30A- I know they support Dual layer, u reckon these would burn the download backups?
