When upgrading firmware from sony I had big problems with xcopy and Nero. The problem turned out to be in windows 2000. The firmware upgrades created new logical drives in windows confusing the software. Sony will not tell you this since as long as they're software works they don't care. The fix is to go under my computer and manage and delete the non-existant drives.
