my NEC dvd ± rewritable burner cannot change book types, it always says failed! model- NEC+-RW ND-3530A help would be appreciated

it could be that the burner doesn't support booktyping. I know for sure pioneers don't so, you could do a little more searching to find out for sure.

Simple solution; Don't use +R, get -R's, they offer far better compatibility.

agree with both of the above. Some burners can not booktype like my old Sony DRU700A
Just get some good quality 8X DVD-R and use the +R you bought for other things.
