Ripping speed/time is WAY slower since I reformatted

I just recently reformatted my PC and today just tried my first DVD rip/burn. Before the reformat I did have some problems with ripping taking well over an hour. With a little help I was able to get it to under 20 minutes. It had something to do with DMA/PIO. Anywho I checked it again and made sure it was set to DMA and it seemed to be A-OK. My rip took well over an hour. Didn't even bother burning b/c I know that would take too long as well. Anyone have any ideas on how to get it back to ripping/burning in under an hour like I used to.

I would still uninstall the drivers and let XP reinstall them upon reboot even if DMA seems to be enabled. Also defrag your HDD.

When you formatted did you do a quick format or the complete format?? Sometimes the quick format gets screwy. Also you may want to check your dvd rom drive for read errors.
