hello i have an old ps2 (the big one) and i see there is all these products for the slimline vs. but i have the big one so i am wondering what do i have to buy. i want the cd thing swap magic but i dont know wat to buy plz help

plus don't use western digital hdds ,they r not rekoned (why) dunno ,the Maxtor Diamond series is good just google for a compatibilty list

so u won't be needing the dvd-burner nor blank dvds just a network crossover cable or the ability to connect the hdd to a computer
therefore enabling u to copy an iso u have on your computer either u got from the internet or from ur own game-disc to the hdd and playing it straight away

Some good info Retro, but not all people want to use hd loader. I have hd loader and swap magic, but i always use my swap magic. Elanbenor, your other option would be swap magic and a fliptop or slide card (i recommend fliptop).

yeah! plus burning an iso could be a hassle (never tried)
but of all those threads i've seen ,it should be quite tricky
though i think its quite easy after reading the sticky threads which elanbenor should find helpful
It depends on the person. You cannot play online off the hd, and some games require patching before they work. Burning an iso is very simple (3 clicks with DVD Decrypter). You prefer using the hd, and thats great. I prefer using swap magic even though i have hd loader and a hd in my ps2.
