I was wondering what the best guide would be for me to Burn all my dvd's to a hard drive and then play over my network later on. The guides I looked at didnt seem specific enough. I would also want the ability to store it on my lappy later on (without having to insert the disc). Please help as this is my next pc project!

or maybe what I am looking for is a guide to the process of doing this...meaning:

DVD to ISO or VOB? to AVI (and use a program to watch this on my computers) or DVD to AVI to ISO to VOB (I just dont really know)

You can copy the dvds on your hard drive in avi/mpeg format, and play them back with Windows Media Player or RealPlayer. If you convert the dvds to avi(DivX), the output file would be almost 1/10 original size and the qualiy would be pretty good.
