Hi, firstly I'm new so hello to everyone. Secondly I have a strange problem with my DVD-RW just discovered when I bought some Datawrite Yellow 8x media. Bare with me as this isn't common and I'm not really a noob as such.

Ok so first I used Bulkpaq 4x and Datawrite Red 4x and I burnt over 200 DVD's fine, not one coaster. I just bought Datawrite Yellow 8x, for some reason 4x discs are hard to come by. Here the problem occurred.

Tried my first burn, the Pioneer started to write got to 45% and gave me a write error (Clone DVD2+Anydvd). Ok, thought must be a gammy disc so tried another. Exact error at the same point. Tried a Nero Test Drive, the Drive started fine then stopped halfway through. This is weird as this Drive should support 16x discs right? So why is it finding this difficult?

I have Ultra DMA enabled, Firmware is latest 1.20 and the Pioneer works perfectly with 4x discs. It's not as if it doesn't work with 8x, it recognizes them but always stops at that same point.

I really hope you can help since afterdawn is usually good for these things, I really don't know what to do as I've tried to buy some 4x discs which can't go wrong but they are so damn hard to come by!!!
