Has anyone had any problems with this games back up? For some reason, when I'm playing it and racing it seems that the envirnment is trying to catch up to the speed of the. For example I'm racing and all of a sudden I just see blank no road no buildings I would have to reverse and the next part of the racing track or envirnment. Anyone have this problem? Media used is verbatims 8x and burnt at 4x any comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Its just the ps2 struggling to load everything before/as you get to it, GTA games have huge problems like this for lots of people. Your using good media so thats not the problem, maybe your ps2 is getting abit worn out.
Other than that drive slower, j/k.

No a NFSMW copy will behave like this on any PS2, HOWEVER if you boot with Swap Magic and press the SQUARE button to boot (NOT the X) it will play just fine with no problems!! try it!!!

Sounds like you're not burning fast enough. If the on screen display is struggling to keep up with the data as the disc spins, this is a dead giveaway the game isn't burned fast enough. Up the burn speed to 8x before trying anything else.

@tokijin- Yeah I want to burn at 8x but in Nero which I have much success with backups won't let me only till 6x I have also tried dvd decryptor and have an IO error so don't know hat the problem ther , but that's whati thought and read some post about you saying that with good media you burn and 8x with 8x media and have had great success so that's what I'm trying to do but can't with Nero and again they're verbs 8x , you think I should try imageburn and try at 8x or see what happens at 6x.

Sure try ImgBurn. It's all I use anymore to burn disc images. I found today that it can even burn PSX games, at least in ccd format. It's one of my favorite, most reliable programs.

You're very welcome - I'm glad it worked!

As a general rule, if you're having problems with a game ALWAYS try the special boot (SQUARE) button first.

If problems persist, then try burning on better quality media.

If that doesn't work, your laser is likely dying - time to replace.
