hey, i bought a Samsung 40" DLP recently but i'm having trouble with the audio. the sound coming directly from the tv is great but when i turn on my surround, i get this echo like it's off by a second.

i have regular composite cables going out of the tv to my surround. i have both my HD cable box and dvd player going to the tv by HDMI cables, my videogames consoles are both using component but everything playes back in "echo" when the sound from both the tv and the surround is on.

i have tried adjusting the eq & sound options on the tv to no avail but i was pretty sure that wasn't the problem. am i just going to have to mute the tv when using surround or is there another way?

Don't use your tv speakers when your using your stereo. You got the surround sound system so that you wouldn't have to use the crappy tv speakers.

Plus, your current connections don't allow for surround sound. Hook up everything from the source to the receiver via either digital coax cable or toslink/optical cable cable. Going from your TV to your receiver is bad because your losing quality.

If you don't have any digital connections use your stereo connections with Pro Logic II (or another equvalent DSP) turned on.

naah, it doesn't "speed up" or anything. it just stays a constant second behind the tv on regular cable, dvd movies, and video games alike. i just did like diabolos suggested and muted the tv and used the surrond till i get a better sound system.
