I can't speack about the mod chip because I don't have on installed but form what I heard is that they are better than swap magic and from the chip model that you want I'm pretty sure that made a great choice as well for the media I use the same type and are great. The only way you'll make coasters is by having bad iso (if its dl) or or just learning the whole backup process other than that I am sure you won't have coasters it great media.

Supermediastore's links don't show up right on AD, but 8x Verb DVD-R's should work great for PS2 backups, I backed up about 15 for a friend awhile back, and the scans were every bit as good as my TY's. Yes the Matrix Infinity Green Dot is a fantastic chip, reliable, powerful, and easy to use. http://www.teammodders.com modded my PS2 and Xbox, they do great work. Check em out.
