Whatever you do, avoid Lacie drives. They are the worst external drive ever made. Avoid them like the plague.

since you want to have your harddrive on 247 and are concerned with the speed you should check out these drives i dont really know much about them but they look great, 4 Drive SATA Case Kits comes with Two 80mm cooling fans keep the components cool. They have exactly the same performance as internal SATA!because its actually conects internaly to pci host cosd with jumper cables so no slow usb or firewire. i am not really sure if they actualy work good but im thinking of buying one of them my self.

the best external hdd that I would recommend would be to build it yourself by buying a maxtor, western digital, or seagate hdd and putting it in a cheap OEM case, saves both money and you get very good quality (not to mention, you can make it internal whenever you feel like it)!

P.S.
My 250 GB External HDD is a internal Western Digital PATA HDD with 8 MB of cache in a XXX Case (not...its not porn, it just says XXX on the case).

If I insult you...don't get offended...my insults are "friendly insults"...I know this sounds stupid (ridiculous) but I am fet up of writing, "no offense" in my posts...

My Comp: (will add specs later)
