I've burnt many ps2 dvd-r's before, but lately i'm finding a persistent problem burning some.

Some of the DVD backups which don't work properly on my ps2 (they crash at the first loading screens), I make the image of the DVD using DVD Decrypter as ISO.
Then burn it at the lowest speed possible.

I use Sony DVD-R (sony16d1), and the newly burnt DVD crashes at the SAME EXACT spot where the original scrached backup crashed at.

This has happened with me on several dvd's now, I just can't figure out what's the damn problem.

I've always used sony media before and it has always run fine. I don't know, if both the original and the newly recorded crash at the same point WHAT does it tell you???? Problem with the original backup itself? Problem with the Ps2 lens or what??

Please help!

Should I get the laser changed? Or should I clean it myself?
I have a Ps2slimline, Can anybody point me to the guide for cleaning lasers of Ps2Slimline?

Thanks

That's your problem right there!
Obviously where the scratch on the original is, will be where the crash occurs because the data is unreadable by the PS2. A copy of the disc will obviously have the same unreadable sector on it
