right now my old computer just died on me so i started to take apart all the parts inside...
i decided to leave my two 90 gb hard drives and install it to my current computer...

so is it possible to have 4 hard drives on one computer?
and i have some files important files on the hard drives...will they be deleted?
and i have windows xp installed on one of the hard drives...if i connect it to this computer...will it start to mess around with the OS i have already on my current computer's hard drive?
sry i'm a noob at computers.....

1) Yes you can have four hard drives connected to your computer. If your hard drives are IDE then most likely two will be used for your optical drives and two for your hard drives. IF they SATA then as long as the board supports them, you can have four. Some support up to 6.

2) the files will not be deleted if you install the hard drive with the OS installed. Make sure to boot from the drive yuo want and nothing should occur.

3) It will not mees up as long as you follow above.

Plz post the type of motherboard you ahve and what type of hard drives also. That shouls make it easier.

can do that with laptop drives ide, sata & rom drives. i've got a 40gig laptop drive in 2.5" enclosure. have multiple 3.5" ide drives attached to my 3.5" adapter at various times & had a rom drive in a 5.25" external case.

5.25? i guess thats for cd rom and stuff anyways yesterday i was on a laptop that didnt have a dvd burner so i took my external hd enclosure and removed the back part of it (since of course a dvd burner isnt gonna fit in there) but i removed the ide cable from the hd and the power and conected it my dvd burner and voila a usb burner (with no enclosure of course)
