I have a NEC ND DVD+R 1100a

I'm using Sonic MyDVD

I've been Using Memorex DVD+R recordable 8x 4.7GB 120min, right along and this problem only started recently.

I created a DVD layout and am ready to burn it to DVD
MyDVD runs through it processes and starts writing, then stops.

I Get This Error:

"Could Not Complete last command because: Device Error - Sense Code (3 73 03) - Power Calibration Area Error - Sequential Write (DVDErr, 226051)"

Any ideas?

In your device manager, right click on your burner, and click "Uninstall". After it uninstalls, reboot, and let Windows detect new hardware, and install a new driver for you.

This is definately a problem! Stay far away from Memorex media. Read around these forums and see all the problems folks have with it. Do a search for "Memorex". If you order online, buy some Taiyo Yuden. Best there is. Can get some here:
DVD-R-media.html" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://www.supermediastore.com/taiyo-yuden-silver-thermal-8x-dvd-...
If you only buy from local stores, stick with Verbatim, or name brands made in Japan (Sony, Maxell, etc.). It will say on package, where it's made. Verbatim is the only Taiwan made media worth having.
Good luck!

Don't know why the link did so crazy, but will get you there. Click on the Taiyo's, on the page that opens.

Memorex, and other cheap, Taiwan made media, may burn ok, and look good, the first time or two you look at it. But down the road (anytime from two weeks, to a year), when you go to watch it again, it will be unwatchable. The video will freeze and pixellate, and the sound will skip, hang, and stutter. The dye starts to break down, because of bad quality control at the factory, due to inconsistant application of the dye, when making the discs.

I learned the hard way. I never used Memorex, but I have used Khypermedia, and other cheap Taiwan made discs. I've ended up having to redo all of them, which became kinda expensive. As I said......... read around the different forums, on this site, especially the DVD±R media forum and see what you find out.

Let us know if the uninstall and reinstall helps, so others looking for answers to similar problems, will know what to do.
Thanks. Good luck!
