How can I back-up VHS To DVD through my Computer?

I was trying to find a general area to post this but I can't so if I am in the wrong area I guess a Mod will move this, Question is I have a agp card with a S video connection that will hook up to my VHS player, I want to back up some older "VHS" family movies and movies I own how do I get started doing this? and I have all the newer DVD back up software like CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD and many more programs, will they work as for as the software I need? or will I need some unique software because some of these older VHS movies are encrypted also like the newer DVD's

Home video Pinnacle 10.5 (not free) great program to make a dvd disc Nero or roxio will put it on a disc .
