This question has probably been answered in this forum but I could not find a thread on the subject:

I have swap magic & gamebreaker pro

I have used verbatim and memorex cdrs which I thought were good, but they make more coasters than backups............

Is there anything better?
Should I be cleaning my PS2 disc drive?
(discs make a whisking, scratching noise when booted)

You're right, it has been asked & answered loads of times before!

For CD-R the brand doesn't matter. I've used loads of different makes & they all work.

And, yes, you should regularly clean your laser, otherwise it'll get dirty or scratched and "make whisking, scratching noises when booted" - to quote a phrase you used!
