Does anyone know how I can rip a dvd and produce one VOB as oppose to 5 1gb VOBs?

DVD Ripper Platinum can rip dVD to one file.

Try rip.NET (the guide is in my sig). What it does is it rips the main movie to just two files, no more or no less. It's the best ripper that I know of for getting the least amount of files. Just make sure your computer has NTFS or it'll cause major compatibility problems.
