is it possible to disable access to certain menus? i split dvd-9 movies to 2 disks and put the special features on the second disk. sometimes i forget and try accessing the features from disk 1 and my dvd player freezes. i've read something about user option prohibitions, but forgot what it was. is that my answer?
thanks_

your answer is probably just doing a movie-only back up which is how I do all my movies (I'm not intersted in menu or extras most of the time)

DVD Decrypter (rip movie-only VOB's & main movie IFO)
DVD2One (select only one audio stream & whichever subtitles required then compress to 4.36Gb)
Nero

You can select what features that can be accessible through the use of Ifo Edit. I have placed a link to a tutorial on the use of Ifo Edit below:

Don't forget DVD Shrink which allows you to shrink the whole disc, menus and everything to fit on one disc

I'd not used Shrink up until recently.
I was curious to recent DVD Shrink 2.2 update & have found myself praising it up.
I was able to back up a well fussy DVD and only using only 2 pieces of software!! Nice
