Im having difficulty burning an AVI file to DVD-R
1.i have the AVI file and i use winavi to convert files to .vob files
2.i use DVD Shrink and overwrite the existing .vob to brun with Nero
3.use Nero to burn the .vob to dvd
4.and error comes up with warnings but i burn anyways
5. i have several movies 2 inparticular work on my dvd player the rest dont i dont understand i did the exact same thign to each of them and 2 out of the 7 work?

if could have anyones help would be greatly appreciated..Thanks

but trying Nero recode after win AVI.then burn w Nero
will see what happens.

crap it only plays on 2 or 3 out of 6 players I have. how to make it more compatible?

By the way they all play in my computer but only the two dvds play in my dvd player?

Is the media DVD RW? If it is, then the sad truth is that DVD Rs play in more players that DVD RWs. It could also be bad media. BTW guys, double posting is frowned upon on AfterDawn, but we'll let it slide.

Why #2? why not just burn them straight away with Nero?

Mistake.

Why don't you do the whole project with Nero. Add your AVI's in NeroVision Express and complete the whole job there.

the thing is nerovision takes 6 hrs to complete the encode from AVI to dvd.

also:

am not having any error messages myself when Nero starts to burn so the dvd should be compatible with all my dvd players as all my normal dvdcopy burns are.

Well i tried out the Nero vision express adn its took 5 and a half hours and error comes up on dvd player there is deff something i have to do here HELPPP!

My Nero vision express project worked with no errors , took 6 hrs, but I did forget to checkmark chapters so its only 1 chapter but it plays fine.

nexxgen do your normal dvd rips play ok?

nexxgen I just did a .wmv file to dvd and it took about 3 hrs or less for a full dvd. Plays in everything and I used all free software.

also you need avisynth and your netframework 2.0 installed.

funny though, AnyDVD said during the verify by imageburn that it was mastered incorrectly but it still worked in my stand alone dvd players!
