Yesterday, I uninstalled Roxio EasyCD Creator and installed Nero 6 Ultra Edition v. 6.3.1.13, which included NeroVision Express 2 v. 2.1.2.11.
I am running WinXP Pro SP2.
I set restore points before uninstalling Roxio and again before installing Nero.
Install went great - burned a Movie DVD and was very pleased.
Then I went to Nero's update site and downloaded and installed all available updates.
This included Nero-6.6.14_no_yt.exe, NVE-3.1.0.25_no_yt.exe, InCD-4.3.23.2.exe, NeroMIX-1.4.0.35.exe, and NMP-1.4.0.35b.exe.
When I went to burn a DVD, I fount NeroVision wanted more space than a 4.7 gig DVD provides in order to burn a 3.12 gig DVD compliant file. I let it "reduce quality" [convert to a lower bit rate??] but found it wanted 5+ hours to do it, so I canceled the operation.
Decided to uninstall all Nero programs and re-install the original version, which had successfully burned a 3.75 gig file onto a single DVD no problems.
I uninstalled all Nero programs through the Control Panel, then "rolled back" the system using System Restore.
Then I reinstalled from my CD.
I found that when I tried to burn a Movie DVD using NeroVision Express, that immediately at the end of 'transcoding' the file, the program simply closes on it's own.
So, I read some threads on this forum, downloaded "General-CleanTool" and ran it, then reinstalled again.
No Joy! - same deal! - as soon as transcoding finishes, the program closes by itself.
