I would totally go with the X800XT

it has 16 pipes while the 850 pro only has 12

it also has a fillrate of 8000mts while the 850 pro only has 6240mts

I want to ask a related question but its illrelavant to yours. Hope you don't mind.. but I have tried to look up the specs and can't seem to find enough info. I have an onboard nVidia GeForce 6100.. and I also have a pci GeForce FX 5500 oc (256mb ddr) Nothing too fancy but it serves my purpose well. My question is: Was I better off with the onboard... or am I right in thinking the 5500 with the 256mb has to be better. I know it seems that the 6100 would be a better graphix card.. but its on board... and the 5500 has its own ram.. just curious. I never really even thought about the onboard card when I installed the 5500.. all I knew was that NFSMW would not install properly before I had the 5500, and now everything works fine. Not an ailing question, but one I am truly naive about and wondered if anyone could help. Thank you

Well I think that the 6100 is very good onboard graphics (I've only had it for a few days). Maybe try benckmarking both using the same program and decide that way.

Thanks for the speedy reply, I had to ask.. I am definetly a lil confused about it all. I have noticed the higher the number.. in most cases, the better the card.. but wasn't sure in this case.. since the 5500 had its own ram and all.. *you can probably tell I'm not much of a gamer. I really just toy with video more than anything.. so either works great.. but I do have a couple games here and there.. and my daughter plays the sims relentlessly.. so it pays to have a semi decent card. But it almost felt like a downgrade to install the 5500 when I already had a 6100 on-board.. but I do know that the 6100 did not support Need For Speed Most Wanted black edition, and the 5500 did. Wasnt sure if it was so much the graphix handling or the boost to ram.. either way it helped to add the 5500. The main reason I'm asking, if it is ram related I would like to pluck the 5500 and just upgrade my ram. And give her the 5500 in her comp (gets the sims off my comp) and how wonderful that would be. I won't express my feelings about a game where all you do is walk people to the bathroom.. but hey, she loves it so whatever works. I'm on a clean install.. if I can figure this out soon.. I won't have to reinstall that silly game.
