Converting Pal DVD to NTSC

I have a PAL DVD that I am going to convert to NTSC using Sony Vegas + TMPGEnc to create an NTSC MPEG2 file. I don't really care about the menu, but I would really like to have subtitles for the converted DVD. How do I convert PAL subtitles to NTSC and add that to the MPEG2 to author a DVD?

Why not just use IFOEdit and the "patch" method on the entire disc? That will leave the subtitles in place.

I will try that first then. In the mean time, I don't think I'll mess with subtitles and such.
