Hey guys i am brand new to newsgroups and have decided to use it to backup my current games. When i downloaded ncaa 2007 i have about 47 .rar files and about 8 .par2 files. What do i do now? i am completely lost. How do i get all of these into one image that i can burn. Thanks.

How about reading the stickies, if you don't know what that means, they're the threads in bold letters. There is one that called "downloaded files what do I do" that should give detail info on how to get image and burn.

Unrar the .rar files with WinRAR. If you have a problem (error message) use the .par2 files to repair them. Use SmartPar to do that.

after i unrar all of the files does it create one large image or do i have to somehow combine all of them into one.

You only unrar the first 001 or 000 depends onwhat you have but after you WinRAR the file it will give you one large ISO file then you can burn that using dvd decryptor , Alcohol 120%, or Nero.

ok i tried to run the .par2 files through a smartpr and fsquick and neither did anything. It still says the file is corrupted when i try to unrar it. is there any tutorial i can look at that tell me what to do after i run the files. I cannot figure out why the file is still saying it is corrupted. Any help would be great thanks.

Use 'QuickPAR' with the par2 files. It'll scan all your rars & if corrupt, it will fix them so you can extract.

my first problem is that the quickpar wont recognize the par2 files. Dont know why. Secondly what do i do with them because when i put them in it says they are all fine. Nothing wrong with them. When i go to unrar the files it says it is corrupted.

Didn't mean to come off rude,but I didn't know that and thought I could help, plus were are redirected to you should provide that info if problem continues with ppl asking about download files because if ppl try to make a stickie that way ppl who dl there backups (due to damage) for ps2 they will come here for help on that.

that guide is informative but it doesnt do anything to explain what the deal is with my par2 files. Can par2 files become corrupted. Could the problem be that i am trying to extract the rar files to a different hardrive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

neither was i being rude,the stickie was mine,and i asked for it to be moved.
i was merely pointing out to you that it was no longer there
hopefully there will be some more stickies moves/removed because they take up the whole page nearly,and most of the cover the same thing
anyways its no biggie,i am sure people can find the thread if they need to.
its about time some users used the search function,instead of bing spoon fed info

PAR2s are for rebuilding corrupt RARs usually. The PAR2s can be damaged or there could not be enough of them to make the repairs. You extact files from the RARs only.

I completly understand, that's the way I learned by read stickies, but still don't think that that's good to do any good if ppl don't read the stickies the they will post the same answered questions over and over. I actually go into it with some at the xbox forums because questions weren't answered and should just be proactive,have more stickies, he told me that ppl don't look at stickies and it just cost space on sever which I understand , but the ps2 forum has been the best for me and my questions when I need them to be answered, btw you had a great stickie tut.
