i just bought a benq 1650 from newegg. i had a dvd writer that i think was goin bad because my dvd rips started skipping. i used this drive for reading and writing the dvds. my lower drive was a cd/cdr burner. what i did was put the new burner in the top where my old one was and put my old burner in the bottom so i can use it to read my dvds and use new one for just burning. on the back when i took out both of my old drives the jumpers were both on cable select. so i left it and put the new one on cable select and left the old one there too. when put back together niether drive would read a blank DVD+R. they would play a burnt dvd and read cdr. so then i took it apart and changed the jumper in the top to master and the bottom one to slave. turned it back on and still wont read DVD+R. when i put a cdr in top dvd writer drive in my computer page it turns from dvd rw drive to cdr drive and i dont know why? hope its not confusing but need some help. oh and the bottom slave cable is hooked into the bottom slave drive and the master cable is hooked into master drive.
thanks
