Burning problems...hardware or software?

Hi!

I have problems burning cd-r/w media and I´ve had this problem for some time now. I have a laptop with nero7 installed and my computer can´t find any data or music if I try to burn that. When I play the cd on my dvd it plays, for example, the movie for a couple of minutes then the picture freezes and the movie stoppes. I suspect this is a hardware issue and not a software one. Any clues what could be causing this? Maybe it´s time to buy an external burner?

Maybe neither of them. Maybe it's the media you've been burning. Crappy media like Memorex, Imation, and many others produces the symptoms you mention.
