I recently upgraded to a DL burner. I have experience with single layer compression with ShrinkDVD, Nero, and DVD Decrypter. I really like the DL media, as I no longer have to compress the data, and its much faster too.

I have noticed that my movie skips for about 1/2 second as it switches from the first layer to the second layer. The rest of the movie is totally fine. Is there a way I can eliminate this. I thought that the original DVD is dual layered, and the archived copy would turn out exactly as the original, but the original doesnt skip when switching layers, but my DL archived backup does.

I am using DVD FAB decrypter to rip the movie to my hard drive, then using Nero (dvd video) and dropping all the files into the video_ts folder, then burning.

You might have better luck with another program such as Imgburn which handles the layer break better than Nero and DVD Shrink.

For DL media, ImgBurn is the way to go.
