i have an actual copy of hdloader, but i saw they have this new version. i wanted to get this because my madden 07 is freezin towards the end of the game, so i figured it could be that my software is outdated. can i upgrade without having my ps2 modded?

The only way i think you can use the latest HDloader without a mod chip is by using the memory card exploit. Since you will have to burn a copy of the latest HDloader ur PS2 wont read burnt copy of cds so you will have to use the memroy card exploit to get the PS2 to load the cd. The memory card exploit loads the hdloader into you memory card then you use a Original PS1 CD to load the hd loader from the memory card. Search for memory card exploit in the forums. It will explian a lot better than i can.
