Hi,
just a quick question, my current dvd drive is scratching my discs like crazy, if I replace it will the scratching stop. I mean, it's not a deeper problem or anything?

I've never heard of a drive scratching a disc...are you sure it's not a handling error? Can you post a scan of one of the scratched discs? Replacing a drive is simple though if it needs to be done and if it is indeed the drive that is scratching the disc a new drive may be the solution.

check your drive tray for a piece of plastic sticking up or sometime and repair it , shoot some canned air into the drive/drive tray helps also
