I have made several videos of my kids with Microsoft Movie Maker. I have converted them from .wmv to VCD's with EasyX Video Converter, which worked well. I then burned them on a disk with Nero, which also worked well. When I played them in my DVD player on the TV, they showed up pretty well, still some graininess, and fuzz, is this due to Resolutions? Any thoughts or something that could help give me the crispness I get on my computer???

its been my experience that after encodeing and burning anything it looses some clarity from the original. The more i tried to fix it the worse it got. I gave up and figured no copy could ever be as good as the original, but i have no problem with being proven wrong. If u find a good solution let me know.
original quality, encoding priority, encoding birate, resolution, and sometimes burn speed!
The resolution can be a problem sometimes, if it is too big for a small bitrate the quality will lessen! If you are using VCD, are you watching it on a big screen?? because it would look a bit fussy on a big screen due to the smallish resolutions!
Even when I watch the VCD on my computer you can still see the graininess, just as it looks on my 27" Tele. So somewhere in the conversion from .wmv to .VCD something made it poorer quality. Don't get me wrong, it's viewable, just not as perfect as I would like. The .wmv file is clear as a whistle.
hey dela, You've answered some of my questions the same way as this question. I appreciate your answers and just thought id ask which encoder u use personally, since the seems to be quality issues with a lot of them, or do u use different encoders for different tasks?
