I was trying out the Nero 7 demo for DVD authoring and burning in NeroVision. The demo version was 7.2.3.2. I was unable to burn my project, so on the advice of an Afterdawn moderator, I uninstalled Nero 7.2.3.2, used the Nero 7 clean tools, and re-installed Nero 7.0.8.2. I had one successful burn, but Nero 7.0.8.2 doesn't have the menus that Nero 7.2.3.2. I re-installed Nero 7.2.3.2 and re-created my project, but still could not burn either to DVD drive, HDD, or to Nero Image. I was able to export the file as an mpeg, however.

Now I want to again uninstall Nero 7.2.3.2, and re-install Nero 7.0.8.2. Will I be able to import and burn to DVD the mpeg file created in Nero 7.2.3.2, with the Nero 7.2.3.2 menus and chapters? Would I do this in NeroVision, or another application in the Nero 7 suite.

Also, a number of threads seem to indicate the Nero 6 6.6.0.18e is more stable than Nero 7 versions. If I wanted to try out Nero 6 6.6.0.18e, would I be able to import and burn to DVD the mpeg file created in Nero 7.2.3.2, with its menus and chapters? In NeroVision, or other Nero application?

Or, is there a non-Nero application that will burn burn to DVD the mpeg file created in Nero 7.2.3.2 with its menus and chapters?

Before I uninstall Nero 7.2.3.2, is there a way to save my work in case Ahead ever works out all the Nero 7 bugs for DVD burning, so I can burn it to DVD later?

Thank you.

I thought I'd add what I've learned today. Using Nero 7 7.2.3.2 Burning ROM, I was able to import the mpeg files burned in NeroVision and burn to DVD. The only thing is that it burned the files as mpeg files, so it won't play on my DVD player.

I know this may sound pretty lame, but I'm trying to learn. Is there a way to burn the mpeg files as DVD files in Nero? Which application should I use?

If not Nero, is there any freeware for doing this?

Thanks.
