Regardless of what you are supposes to be able to get away with, I would suggest that you remove the nvidia display drivers, reboot and then install the latest downloaded version.

Latest full version forceware is 91.31.

Also make sure that the BIOS is set for SLi mode before you power up and load the drivers.

remember to enable sli multi gpu and optimize ure card for sli rendering dont just plug ure card and thats it hell no in sli rendering mode select "split frame rendering" so that way half of the screen is rendered by 1 card and the other 1 by the other card that should boost ure fps to a whole new level

I actually lost fps on Call of Duty2. I enabled optimize for sli in the menu, but, it still didn't help. fps did not increase for BF2 either. HL2, I saw an increase as with 3DMark05 & 06. There are so many settings, I get confused.

Unfortunately not all games are optimized for SLi; similar to the current situation with Dual Core optimization. It's still infiltrating a lot of gaming, and it's a slow process between the drivers being further updated, and the games becoming more compatible. So, not all of them will be perfect just yet.

With lots of tweaking, people have had all ranges of response to SLi performance, some good, some not. But I honestly expect it to level out well in the next year, which is good, because my second video card is on the way.

dude ure not helping if u dnt have sli dont say a thing sry ure confusing him

its a config thing and in call of duty 2 u get lots of fps more ok with this all my games have received a fps ex nfs mw,bf2,call of duty 2, age of empire 3

1st change the control panel user interfance to clasic(it doesnt boost ure fps but i can explain the next steps better)

2nd click performance and quality settings where it says view click advanced settings

3rd in settings look for sli rendering mode then in value choose "split frame rendering" (click apply and whatever comes in ure way)

this way ure gonna notice a boost in fps in all ure games since now half of the screen is being rendered by 1 card and the other half by the other card

welcome to a whole new world

Well, I've read that AFR is best. Split frame, each card renders half the screen, where as AFR one card renders the even frames and the other the odd. So, I have been tweakingwith both settings and have found that certain games like one and other games like the other. So, hopefully this will become much simpler in the future. It sill rocks. I do notice improvements.

Nope, I don't have it, but I've set it up on multiple machines, henceforth my knowing about the configuration for different engines needing to be different. So yeah, considering I optimize systems with it, I know what I'm saying.

As for split frame rendering, an effective overall method, but some games can see a greater boost from other methods, leading further into what I was saying before.

Who said anything about overclocking? I never said that word, it's something I never suggest to people, and never will. I am an optimizer, not an overclocker.

Certain game engines can actually be tweaked to operate better with multiple graphics cards, in some cases you can even find re-written configs to download, that are made to be more compatible with SLi. In these cases, the performance is actually better.

And besides, elikito's post further shows another popular method. Simply because I don't suggest your method, does not mean it is wrong, there are many ways to use an SLi setup, and until game engines use some standard method, there will continue to be multiple ways.
