I just started getting into the Final Fantasy series (I know it's late!!) but I wanted to know which game is good to start off with?

FF7 is one of the best I played it it's superb.

Yeah final fantasy 7 is the or one of the best final fantasy games ever. (final fantasy 7 is for ps1). But if you dont have a ps1 you can get final fantasy 1 2 and now 3 on the gameboy advance. If you want one for ps2 try final fantasy X. If you like that you could try final fantasy x-2 but a lot of people did not liek that one. If you dont want a final fantasy rpg you could try final fantasy dierge of cerberus (it's a third person shooter). You could always wait for the new one to come out for the ps2 in october. I played the demo and it is awseome!

EDIT: Final fantasy 9 is the second best for ps1 in my opinion.
