Hello, after using apps such as Devhook and IRShell, I was beginning to wonder if utilizing an internet connection from my laptop was possible over the USB cable. I'd like to play games online and such but I don't have the money at the moment to buy a wireless router. Is this even possible? Thanks!

Call me crazy, but if you're sitting at your computer and you want to use the internet, why wouldn't you just use your computer instead of the PSP.

No need to apoligize no one reads everything perfectly and we all make mistakes. although internet through usb would be neat for online games for those that cant afford a wireless router at the moment.

now im scratching my head, i should have chosed YAHOO!BroadBand instead of my NTT FLETS DSL. yahoo has included a wireless access modem/router/lan hub and a usb dongle. while my ntt flets is just merely a DSL modem, and oh man i do pay extra modem rental every month which sucks. ill be buying my own dsl modem/router/wirless in just a couple of days all my comps will be in wifi ^_^.
just a suggestion -
since usb cant be used for psp online. you should buy cheap used usb wireless dongles and play some xlink kai adhoc online games.
UPDATE
as i mentioned above about usb wirless dongles, you can only play online adhoc on xkai or xbconne getting a wireless router is the only option.

not all wireless usb dongles send out a wifi signal tho. the majority of them only receive the signal. you have to be extra sure u get that one that can function as an access point for the psp. although wireless routers are a much better choice. ease of use and it sends out a WAY better signal.
