I've burned many sony arccos movies and other difficult dvd's, but I have never had this many problems with a movie. I looked all over this website and the internet for a guide or something that would help me understand what I'm missing. I am using DVD Decrypter to copy to the hard drive, and that is where it's failing. I'm trying to backup undercover brother. I copy it in IFO mode, and only PGC1. It gets three quarters of the way into vts_01_04 and starts failing on the sectors. This is a 2002 movie!!!! What is my issue?

you probably have a bad/scrathed dvd try setting DVD Decrypter in brute force mode and to ingore all read errors.

or try a different program Intervideo DVD Copy 4 does hard to read dvds

it wouldnt be the copy protection since its an older movie.

or try getting another copy of the dvd if all else fails

Ah, but intervideo dvd copy 4 cost $, Decrypter is freeware. I'm not willing to pay for the movies AND pay to backthem up.

You might want to try a repair kit to remove light scratches.

I use a disc doctor all the time and toothpaste sometimes its scratched or has a dent on it and just won't copy If you can copy a different movie its the disc not your PC
