Does PSP have to be plugged-in when downgrading, upgrading, etc.?

Can it be downgraded when running on battery power, assuming the battery is fully charged and not defective?

It would be advisable to have your adaptor plugged in even if your battery is fully charged...just incase. ;)

I know. ;)

But, in theory, it is not needed, right?
I'm asking because I'll be meeting a friend in town to downgrade his PSP, and I would like to know if we'll have to find an electric outlet or not. :)

something will halt (stop) the process if the psp is not plug to a wall outlet. try it you'll see, or just plug it ^_^.
