I know that you can get a modchip to play backups on your PS1 console, and there's also the bootdisc method. But I was wondering if there's any other way to play my backup games on my PS1.

I have the original console by the way, not the slim model. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The forum search is a wonderful tool, it helps you find the answers to questions like this, that are asked 3 or 4 times a week!

I remember there was a cheat device that you could use to play backups with but I forgot the name of it.

NTSC DNAS threads.

ace1uk, perhaps a link would be helpful rather than telling me to search, especially if this is asked 3-4 times a week. There's no pinned threads about it, and there's nothing to stop me asking a question.

Anyway, does anyone else know about that cheat device that can be used to play backups.

lol, ace cracks me up. but yea there is a modchip, and there is swap method. there pretty much is no other way. the cheat device would still require swaping. if you are good you can use any disc to swap.. i used a demo and a backup, man those were the days. messed up my psx spinny thing, but it worked! lol.

Oh well, I suppose it's OK, that's what I thought. Luckily I decided to get a chipped PS2 (fitted with the Matrix Infinity), so I'll be able to use it to play my PS1 backups instead.

Thanks for the help
