Ridge Racer V on a DVD

Hi, I'm trying to back-up Ridge Racer V onto a DVD (my PS2 hates CDs) but when I try to patch the files I have extracted with IsoBuster DVDScan37 just scans them and doesn't patch them for DVDR. The program is set to auto-patch so what's wrong?

P.S. This problem also affects other early PS2 CD based titles like "Gradius III & IV". How come?

Maybe there aren't any media checks in the game? It won't patch if it cant find any.

you are probably right ace.rrv was the first game out for ps2 and that may be why.
