Hey ya'll!

Well, I'm new to the forum, as well as this whole PS2 mod thing. I've been doing my research and I have a couple questions...

First of all, I have the model SCPH-30001R system with the standard slide tray. I understand the pros and cons of the flip-top over the slide tool and I'm planning to pick up a flip top mod soon.

My questions are this...

If I download the ISO files for Swap Magic and burn them to their respective formats (CD/DVD), will they work to boot up my PS2? I've heard they may not but I want to be sure.

Also, what potential damage can using this procedure (Swap Magic boot)on a frequent basis cause to my system?

Finally, if the Swap Magic ISO's won't work, can someone tell me the cheapest place to get the originals and do I need v3.6 for it to work correctly in my console? Is there a place I can get an older version?

Im not experienced within Swap Magic modules.

But, from what i know, it should work if you burn properly, but just make sure you dont use a bad media quality. Go for either Taiyo Yuden , TDK or Verbatim. I have tested all 3 Media on both DVD+R and DVD-R.
They work perfect.

I dont think it damages your system at all.

You dont need swap magic to play originals.

But beside all this, i prefer you get a modchip. I know its costly, but you wont regret it once you have it. Trust me. I have a Crystal Chip 1.0. So far i havent even got 1 game that didnt boot up correctly for me.
