Madden 07 Freezing in SS mode

Anyone any idea why my madden 07 freezes in SS mode?It happens when i have entered my weight and height and chosen my college. It is NTSC copy.I borrowed a friends copy, who had told me that his SS mode worked fine, but when I tried it on my Ps2 it did the exact same thing. Can only think that it must be because I am using a modchip and he is using swap magic??Both my friends copy and mine wer burnt at 4x on to Verbatim - R.

I would doubt it'd be anything to do with you having a chip & him using SM. If anything, you have the better mod, so it'd be a problem with his mod rather than yours.
It may well just be a bad burn on your copy. If its a copy of a copy, then you might be better renting the game, so you get a better copy.

It cant be my copy because I tried my copy on his PS2 and it works fine. It must be something to do with my PS2??I will get hold of the PAL version and try that

well certain playstations react to different media differently.. i bought cheap DVD-R and it works well in my friends playstation... but not in mine.. i have to use verbatim which dont work that great in his ps2.

PAL version works fine. Damn QB bug in SS mode though where he chucks it backwards 30 yards. Anyway around it?Apart from to take manual control?
