psp 1.5's! they're almost all gone! We need to protect the very few that are left in this world from tragic updates, killer mobos, and nooby stupidity. Heres my idea! If you go to a magazine shop or game store with game mags for psp, insert a small pamphlet about the psp 1.5 and how it is being killed everyday by updates. I will make a .pdf or jpg that you guys can print out and put into these horrid magazines that say you should update because its 'cool'. It will be just like the cigarette warning labels. Im going to start working on that as soon as i get out of scotland. The reason for posting this is because i had to go through the pain of watching my friend update his psp (which was factory 1.5) to 2.8. I've never had to go through anything so painful in my life. I warned him but he did it anyway! he always asks me if he can play my emus on his psp and i have to tragicly say 'im sorry, but you killed your psp.' So if anyone wants to help me next week, send me a pm.

wow.you don't have to go through all that~ although 1.5 is being "killed" all day..new 1.5s are being borned to by people downgrading. If he wanna upgrade his fw..why not? what's the hussle about?

i understand if people dont like homebrew and want to update, but im trying to save the people who just got their psp and dont know jack about homemade apps. And when they first look in the game magazines, they think its best to update. Then when they read on qj.net or psp-hacks.com, they realize they're f$%5ed. Im trying to help people who may someday want to play homebrew.(just show them what its capable of before they update, and if they dont want to 'do the brew' then they just update.

i think in a separate thread v should start a poll of what fw people are having in aD like if they say +1 its 1.0 if +2 then 1.5 if +3 then 1.52 and so on comon antomic make a thread i already have 2 threads on the main page

no, i dont want to make too many threads now(maybe later), but thats a good idea! but it would be baised because almost everyone on AD are hackers. They're smart and most have 1.5 because they research before they do dumb things. thats a skill alot of us need

but there r many guys having ta-082 fw ie more than 2.5 and normal mobo 2.6+ fw and having wrong psp doesnt mean u r a noob or not smart enough

maybe only 10-20% of the PSP owners are on Fw 1.5 and it is either dying or being killed everyday!

the no of peeps having 1.50 will decrease further more after 3.0 is launched with the tasty features like xps emulator and gps.

Wait, you're serious about this?
Well in PSM3 they gave a guide on how to put homebrew on your PSP and gave a short description of what the UP Modchip does, surprises me seeing how they are the "official" PS3,PS2 and PSP magazine with a good relationship with sony =S

Anatomic is right in ways, i first got my PSP with the demo disc and the wee red paper inside saying i must update before i play any games, and at the time i hadnt a clue, about homebrew and such, it was when i bought my PC (year ago now, also deleted anti vi first time LOL) that i discovered all this, even at work my apprentises hadnt a clue what you could do with it, (now they do ;) so in ways i think he,s right.

I am a avid user of sites like I-hacked and hackaday so suddenly 1 day i saw a 2.00 to 1.50 downgrader article that is when i started to understand homebrew and stuff!I have seen ppl updating 1.50 to 2.60 and i have to accept it is really painfull to look at them updating why do u upgrade sell it to me i will give u a new 2.6!!!!!
