Open DVD Shrink, open DVD browser and select two movies that you want on the first disc and backup as usual. Same process for second disc.

Double click on each file one at a time to get it into the left side, they shouldn't overwrite each other just add themselves to the compilation. You have to be in reauthor mode.

Sorry that doesn't work. can not get both on the right side at the same time in reauthor. Can only get one or the other on right in reauthor

In reauthor, drag the movie to the upper left window. Then choose FILE/OPEN your other movie. It could be in a folder or maybe an ISO file, you should know which one. Then choose reauthor again and drag that movie to the upper left window. You will now see TITLE 1 and TITLE 2.

I'd probaby use DVD Lab to author and add a quickie title to choose from either movie at start-up.

You can also do this in Nero Vision Express, if you have Nero. Just choose Make a Movie then import your files and NVE will allow you to create a menu for your project. I just did a project with some old movies putting two onto 1 disk because they were short, worked out very well, and you can create some really nice menus this way.

Best program I've used for joining DVDs is TMPGEnc DVD Author.
A 30 day trial is downloadable, so you get plenty of time to use it.
Unlike some others, it makes very easy work of joining a split film and removing menu?s etc... also keeps audio sync.

@BigDK
Is the trial fully functional, I have wanted to try the program but don't want to find out it only does 30 seconds of video.

It is fully functional.
Its just the time limit that is the issue.
No watermarks, no size limits except the normal constraints out on dual layer dvds.
I used it to join the LOTR directors set from 2xdual layer to single dual layer, worked a treat.

Thanks, will give it a try, some of those trial have limitations on doing the whole backup and only give you a tease. I want to make sure it works on a whole project before I spend some money.

Also it looks as though its a 14 day trial not 30 as I said, but it still is fully opened.

Does anyone here know of a guide for Nero vision express 3. I need to edit out about 5min in the middle of a movie, but using there editing tool is very confusing. I either edit out the whole beging or the whole end. I just can't figure it out

You should be able to just do 2 seperate captures using the start end tool and then save each part in individual cycles and then do a third run and add the 2 together.

You could also try PGCEdit. It is free and does the trick. You can either create a new DVD and import both titles or open one DVD and import the other title.
I use PGCEdit to combine Special features from multiple discs into 1 DVD or add extras to other discs.
The benefit to using this over DVD Shrink is that you can also import menus so you can have a fully functional DVD rather than a play only one. However, importing menus requires a little bit of DVD knowledge or at least a guide.
