I have been trying to record live audio from a site. I can get up to about 30 minutes, but then every program I've tried stops recording. I have a trip coming up where I'll be driving about 24 hours total, so I'm wanting alot more than 30 min. I have over 100 GB on my hard drive free, so I know that's not the problem. I've tried using Ultraplayer, Real Player, and Hi-Q Recorder. I've D/l Streambox VCR, but can't even begin to figure that one out. The site is http://sdcradio.com/index.php?location=home&nav=nhome if that helps any. The file is in .pls format. Thanks so much for any help!

TIA,
Rynn

This is the program I use. There are many programs to do what you want. I like this program because you can listen to the program while downloading.Good luck.

Thanks for the link. Can you give me a brief tutorial on how to use this? I've looked at the help file and the forum, neither of which made much sense to me. I think the translation wording is throwing me off.

TIA,

I'll try to point out the basics.
Open the program and click on the 'New Download' button.
This will bring up the 'Add new task' box.
Enter the URL that you want to download in the URL space.
Fill in the rest of the box with the location you want the file to be stored, etc.
Click 'OK'
Click on the 'Downloading' folder at the upper left, and highlite the task that you just created. Then click 'Start'.
After the downloading has gone on for a minute or two you can click on the 'Play' button to listen.
I hope this will get you started. This is like most programs, once you have used it , it becomes simple. Let me know if you get stuck.
Good luck.

Ok, how do I find the URL for the actual stream? The only URL I have is the one I put in my first post, and that one doesn't work. I've even tried the file that I open to play the stream (the .pls one) and that didn't work either. The program looks like it's easy, that's what's so frustrating about this. Thanks for helping me out.

If you hold your mouse over the spot where you click to download , you will see the URL for the download http://208.53.186.177:9148/listen.pls
down at the lower-left on your lower tool bar. You can also right click the spot and click on 'properties'to see the URL.Good luck.

The URL that I gave you is not the real stream URL I found out.
If I can come up with the real URL , I'll let you know. Sorry.

Well, I think this is the URL for the audio.
http://208.53.186.177/listen.pls
But I have not been able to download it.
I have not used it , but Winamp has a plugin to download
streams and Winamp will play the stream so it might download it.
If you want to research it. Good luck.
