my DVD+RWs that i bought for DATA does not work with my DVD ROM Drive from 2002 Tobisha when i bought the computer works fine in my burner if i get a newer DVD ROM Drive will it work??? btw its a Sony DVD+RW also im book-typing it DVD-ROm with nero

You could try updating the firmware to see if it can recognize the new discs. If that fails or if you can't upgrade the firmware then you probably need a more modern drive. Tigerdirect has NEC 3550As for $20 after rebate until the end of the month.

-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

thx cuzz my sony dvd RW drive reconizes it and also my xbox360 reconizes it its a picture DVD for my 360 for wallpapers and stuff
