OK I am trying to backup some of my daughters dvds using Xilisoft DVD Ripper Pplatinum v4.0.53. My daughter tends to scratch the originals so I am making her some backups to use. My problem is once I rip the original dvd, I have 13 chapter files but no IFO's. How do I take these files and burn these to dvd?

I would ultimately like to use TMPGEnc DVD Author to combine two of her dvds on one dvd. I think I can customize the size in the split field. When I try to add the ripped files from dvd ripper platinum it says only mpeg 1 and mpeg 2 are the only valid files. Should I re-rip the dvds into MPEG-2 movies? Is there an easier way to back up these dvd's?

Also the dvd's are the Backyardigans fron Nick Jr. Have tried other programs and having problems getting around the copyright protections. I also have xilisoft dvd creator v2.0.12, but TMPGEnc DVD Author seems more user friendly and alittle faster.

any help would be great

motze Well the newer movies have new copy protections and you need some hard hitting programs to do the new stuff. If you want freebies then go to the top web site and download DVDFab and that along with Shrink should help but Shrink will not do the newer movies. The best way to go and it will cost you but it is the best out there is AnyDVD
and Clone DVD II. They give you a 21 day free trial and those two alone will take care of anything thrown at them and then some.
