ok first sorry for posting lots of questions but i have a
[1:1:0]_NEC DVD+RW ND-2100AD
Dvd burner right apperently DVD-r's are better for makin backups, ya?
so is there any way i can trick my burner into writing on dvd-r's opposed to dvd+r's. like, i dont know, firmware or a patch or maybe editing something in its registry or something.

an i just noticed that the blank cd's i have are CD-R and they work fine. both media's are Memorex.

the only thing you can do is try to booktype to DVD-ROM if your burner supports its. I only know how to do this using dvddecrypter. in dvddecrypter click on the icon that looks like a book right under the window on the right and choose your model (if it's supported and is there) if it's not supported then dvddecrypter will freeze/crash.

edit:
google for your burner model there might be a way to change the model
to make it burn both types of media.

DVD-s aren't better for making back ups. I prefer to use - but it doesn't matter if i use +/-: it really depends on whether or not your PS2 is happy with + &/or -. My V12 isn't fussed if the disc is + or - but some of the earlier PS2s are fussy and only with with + or -, not both.
