Hi, I just bought a Funai DVD/VHS recorder with 160G hard drive HRD A2635 and although everything seems to work ok when I try to dub from vcr to hdd or dvd with a NTSC vhs video i get an error and the operation stops. Can somebody explain this to me as the tape plays ok and displays in colour with sound on the tv. I have also tried playing in video player and recording on another player with no problem but the copy will still not dub. This tape is a old home movie and as far as i am aware has no protection so why will my new recorder not save it to the hard drive so I can convert it to a dvd. The unit dubs ok with a PAL vhs tape inserted.
Is there some sort of protection in this recorder to stop this working if so is there a way round it or another way I can save and burn to dvd (in PAL format)
