Hello,

I've been hired by a Production Company to edit some of their footage into a reel, but it's all coming from DVDs.

I'm wondering if there's some ripping software out there that can by pass the encoding, and rip certain portions of the DVD without ripping the whole movie, into a Quicktime or Mpeg file, or AVI. Doesn't matter.

Is there a software like this, and what would be the best kind otherwise?

Thank you.

Give AoA DVD Ripper a try. It can just rip the parts of DVDs that you want. DivX/Xvid/AVI is recommended.

Here is a detailed guide on how to extract clips from a dvd.
