G6 U-Disk manager writing speed

I keep reading around that writing to the U-Disk take a few seconds but it's not at all the writing speeds I have. ROMs take around a minute on average to write and all the tests I did don't seem to have effect on the writing speed: trimming Vs. not trimming ROM, with or without soft reset support, writing a .zip or .nds file. Tried all combinations of these options, and writing speeds are still the same.
It's not really a problem, just that it's bugging me is all :)
I have the 4.3a version, and yes, I do have USB2 (I even tried different ports!).

Dunno why that is, takes about 10-20 seconds for me (depending on game size) still fast compared to the days when people spent 5-10 mins copying GBA games to their crappy GBA carts :P Though most GBA flash carts are better than that now.

You say you have USB 2.0. Are you using the USB ports on the front of the computer (if it has any)? Those tend to be USB 1.1, use the ports on the back of the computer if you aren't already using them :)

I don't know why people tend to think that, you're not the first I hear saying that USB ports on the front are USB 1.1. Motherboards usually have one USB controller, and when they do have more than one controller, they usually are the same technology which means all the ports on a PC are either USB 1.1 or USB 2. In any case, I really don't see the point of having 2 different USB controllers, and especially have the USB ports on the front panel (the more accessible ones) be in USB 1.1 while the ones on the back are USB 2.
All this just to say, it's not a USB port problem, and, even if it were, the transfer is too fast for it to be because it's USB 1.1.
(just to be on the safe side, I'd like to say that I'm not being aggressive, just making a statement. Nothing personal ;) )

Could just be that your computer is slow at patching the games. Also as a side note, i've worked with many computers that have USB 1.1 at the front and USB2 at the back, though this was when USB2 was being introduced so not many people needed USB2 for flash drives etc. Also my motherboard has two USB controllers, though one of them isn't used.

I doubt that it's the patching process that's taking this long, I got an Athlon 3800+, I don't think the difeference with other systems would be that great (form a few seconds to a couple of minutes)!
And I'm almost positive that both your USB controllers are the same technology ;)
Guess I'll never know how to fix this ennoying behavior :(

Tried copying the ROMs directly through explorer (see my other post at http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/390510 )and I'm sorry to say that it is still taking too much time :( Can't begin to figure out why :( Tried copying the same files to my MP3 player on the same USB port, the transfer is much faster. Doesn't anybody have a similar problem?
