I have the 3.0, and am trying to get some of my games to work - I am not sure what to do when the compatability list says "MODE 1, MODE 2, or MODE 3" - there isn't an option like this. I see the options below. I was guessing that the first 3 options may be modes 1, 2, and 3, but Final Fantasy X (MODE 3 per the compatibility list) has the same problem when I turn that option on as if I leave it off - it freezes in the middle of the first FMV and I can't continue.

slow hdd access
disable DVD9 support
kill hda after launch
date/timefix 2
date/timefix 3
disable network support
disable uab patch
soul calibur 2

You are correct on the modes. Mode 1 = slow hdd access. Mode 2 = disable DVD9 support. Etc. I dont have FF so I cant really help on that side. Other than I have had a few games do wild things. Might just try and make a new image of the game and re-load it. Dont know if it might need patching or something either. Do a search on AD in the forums for FFX.

umm i have final fantasy x on my hdd for ps2 also and i dont have any modes set for it, and it works perfectly fine.
