downloaded a pal game, how to play in a US ps2

i downloaded formula 1 PAL ps2 game, but i have a US ps2 which plays NTSC discs, so how do i burn it so that i can play on my ps2, i know how to burn downloaded NTSC games. any help

If you have swapmagic just switch video mode to PAL. If you have modchip then it needs paltontsc patch.

yeah i have swap magic, so just switching to PAL will work?, is there any restriction on the type of tv that i have, because i dont know if my tv can play PAL video.
and do i need to do anything else?

thanks for the info, i was looking at the other thread just above mine and it seems like this guy downloaded formula one 2006 which is what i have downloaded too and he cannot make that game work by the method that you told me, so it confuses me. is there anything to do with the tv, or the way you burn it.

man i think we have the same problem
the iso itself is 4.11GB and doesn't seem to work rights
i have swapmagic 3.6 disc burned two times one time with 4x and one time with 8x same issue either says not a valid ps2 disc or black screen and stays there tried everything. i don't have a single working backup game yet
downloaded a pro evolution soccer 5 too (PAL also) doesn't work neither
if you solve it let me know

well i have backed up lots of NTSC games and all of them work properly, i think you are not rebuilding the iso image, i mean when the size of the iso is greater than 4 gb then there are lots of dummy files which you need to remove by rebuilding the image file, look at this thread and rebuild the game and then burn it and see what happens, let me know if it works,

my problem is whether this method will work with PAL games because i haven't backed up any PAL games yet.

rebuilding and all ok but what about the pro evolution soccer 5 i just downloaded it is PAL ok and about 2.07GB?

f1 2006 should work easily with swap magic downloaded from torrent i got it this way 4 weeks ago and it works PERFECT no freezing i burnt it to a ritek g05 disc DVD-R at 4x with a samsung ts-h552 dvd-+r/rw dual layer

nope i used sony 8x media burned in 4x tried formula and pes5 and didn't work
i only saw one time the language menu option in pes5 but it was you know screen was all messy coz of the PAL thing couldn't do much then tried formula 06 patched with PAL 2 NTSC patch but it didn't work again
i am trying to gave up wasted around 10 discs already

no!
DO NOT patch the f1 06 for NTSC or whateva just run it with swap magic sm has its own video convertor,it should work i did it 4 weeks ago and it still works by the way its one of the maddest racing games still playing it much better then 05 and 04
